Our little league parade is fast approaching! Here is important information about the parade, uniforms and the picture schedule for the season.
The parade will take place on Tuesday, April 19th at 5:30pm. We ask parents to drop kids off at the Old Administration Building (across from the Elementary School) at 5pm. Coaches will gather players into teams to walk in the parade. We will line the teams up and then the parade will start at 5:30pm. A fire truck will lead us as we walk down to the square, once around the square, and then back down to the Old Administration/Middle Building, where parents can pick up their children after the parade. A picture route of the parade is available on the Little League website.
Please have players wear their uniform shirts to the parade. Jerseys were completed and handed out to coaches on Saturday, April 16th. If any coach has not distributed jerseys to their players by Tuesday, we will have them at the parade to hand to your kids right before they walk. Hats have been significantly delayed from the supplier. We are working with our uniform supplier to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Hats will not be received in time for the Parade or first games. If your kids have played before and have a previous season hat, please have them wear it to the Parade and for their first games until this season's hats/visors arrive.
Pictures (Updated): Due to delayed hats/visors we are canceling the previously published picture schedule. We will reschedule PeeWee and Minor/Majors pictures once hats/visors have been received and distributed to teams. More information coming on the rescheduled picture day(s).
Opening Day/Flag Ceremony (New): Opening day for the season is Wednesday, April 20th. The Winterset VFW will be performing a flag raising ceremony at 4:45pm that Wednesday to kick off the season. Please have your players attend to honor the flag and to hear the singing of the national anthem!
